Man United rule out Paul Pogba sale this summer: report

Today, Paul Pogba all-but confirmed his intentions to leave Manchester United this summer.

After a turbulent few years at Old Trafford, while there is no Champions League football on the table, the 20-time Premier League winners shouldn’t be surprised.

With that said, the ball is firmly in their court. Pogba has two years (with the option for a third) left on his contract. The Red devils aren’t under any pressure to sell should they not want to.

Just a few hours after the Pogba quotes emerged, United’s stance on the situation became clear. The story comes from James Robson in the Evening Standard, who say that the club have ruled out any sale of the 26-year-old Frenchman during this window.

Apparently, Pogba has been told he’ll be a United player next season despite the player’s desire to join Real Madrid. The midfielder was told that United were to refuse any bids for him – hence why he had to take his desire to leave into the public eye.

The only problem is that Solskjaer is ‘unlikely’ to want to keep an unhappy player around and Pogba could well have a negative effect on the dressing room as a whole. Obviously, that’s good for nobody.

If the right offer comes in, I feel United should cash in and move in a different direction. The club cannot worry about whether Pogba will move away and do great things. Instead, they need to focus on themselves and work out what’s best for Manchester United.
