Manchester United are set to reward versatile star Ashley Young a new contract, following a resurgence in form at the start of this season. That’s according to the Daily Mirror.
The 32-year-old found himself out of the team last term, but this campaign, the Englishman has done brilliantly in the full-back role on multiple occasions.
Now, he’s set to put pen to paper on a new £6million deal, keeping him at the Theatre of Dreams beyond his current deal that expires next summer. The Red Devils have activated an option on said contract, meaning he’ll be at United until 2019.
He more than deserves another year as a Red Devil. Young has been sensational, so-much-so that he’s now back in the England squad – and in a World Cup year, too.
Jose Mourinho loves versatile players. Young can play in pretty much any position on the football field, and do an adequate job more often than not. We’re lucky to have his on-field brilliance, but his experience as well. I’m chuffed for him that he’s enjoying success recently, and long may it continue.
