Man United set to give huge summer transfer budget to next permanent manager: report

Manchester United had an extremely poor summer transfer window in 2018, with the club seemingly intent on righting those wrongs.

According to a report from The Sun, the club are set to give their manager £200million to spend over the summer; whoever that may be…

At the moment, I feel as though it’s Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s job to lose, and no doubt the board will be asking for his thoughts regarding potential signings. However, June is some way off and in football, things can change rapidly.

I feel as though if we’d have spent a significant amount last time around, perhaps Jose Mourinho would still be in a job and we’d be trying to mount a serious title challenge. Obviously, that didn’t happen, but Solskjaer has got his side back on track.

For that reason, I think it will eventually be the Baby Faced Assassin who is named permanent boss over the summer, so it does make sense to prep ahead of time.

The biggest need is that centre-back slot. If we can bring in a world-class defender, similarly to how Liverpool went and got Virgil van Dijk, that’d immediately give us a better shot at winning Premier League matches.
