Manchester United and Chelsea have signalled an interest in signing Porto striker, Moussa Marega, according to The Metro, per The Sun.
The forward from Mali has been in excellent form this season, scoring fourteen league goals already, now Jose Mourinho and Antonio Conte are ready to go head-to-head in an attempt to sign Marega.
At first, I was left wondering as to why the Red Devils would be in the market to sign another striker, particularly so shortly after spending big on Romelu Lukaku. However, you think about Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the likelihood of the Swede putting pen to paper on a new contract at Old Trafford. Suddenly, a move for Marega makes sense.
Lukaku simply cannot do it all on his own, and he will get injured from time-to-time. Marega will likely understand that he’ll be playing back-up to the aforementioned Belgian, but the man from Mali would get opportunities if he came to the Theatre of Dreams.
As for the January transfer window, I highly doubt a move would happen then. Marega will be much more obtainable when the summer rolls around, which, fittingly, is when Ibrahimovic’s contract expires.
