Man United star demands meeting with Jose Mourinho over lack of playing time: report

Victor Lindelof has apparently demanding a meeting with Manchester United manager, Jose Mourinho, regarding his lack of playing time.

That’s according to The Sun anyway, per The Metro, who say that the centre-back, formerly of SL Benfica, is after some assurances surrounding his future at the club.

The 23-year-old is ‘bemused’ at how many appearances he has made since moving to Old Trafford, playing in 21 games, but starting just 7 times so far. For a player who was starting every single week last term, this is obviously hard to take for the young man.

I guess while Eric Bailly and Marcos Rojo were out injured, Lindelof would have expected to feature much more than he has done. Now the Ivory Coast star is back, the ‘Iceman’ is likely to slip even further down the pecking order.

As for him wanting to speak with the boss, I have absolutely no issue with that. It’s clear he wants to play more regularly, showing a desire, hunger and drive to perform for this football club.

Sure, it’s highly unlikely that Mourinho is going to change his mind on the back of this meeting, but he’ll be pleased with the attitude and willingness shown by the 23-year-old. Obviously, it was always going to be tough for Lindelof to adapt, but in time, I fully expect him to play a part for United over the next few years at least.
