Manchester United’s Marcus Rashford may be named amongst the substitutes when the Red Devils take on Liverpool this weekend. That’s according to Club Call, per The Express.
Apparently, Jose Mourinho is concerned about the condition of the 19-year-old, due to the fact that he played for England against both Lithuania and Slovenia during the latest round of international fixtures.
Club Call apparently says that too much football at such a tender age could lead to burnout, and United staff members will be closely monitoring the star from Wythenshawe in the build-up to the important game away at Anfield.
I guess the likely candidate to start in Rashford’s place would be none other than Anthony Martial. The French starlet has recently been named the United Player of the Month, and in my opinion, he more than deserves an opportunity to play in a big game from the off.
The self-proclaimed Special One will be hoping to keep it tight in a tricky away fixture, hence why Rashford and his defensive qualities may well be the better option. If United are forced into starting Martial, perhaps we’ll see a more attacking approach on display. We’ll just have to wait and see.
