Ander Herrera is poised to sign a new Manchester United contract, according to the Manchester Evening News, as per The Metro. Jose Mourinho has only utilised the Basque-born midfielder three times this season, only one of which was a start.

He endured plenty of time on the bench to start off Mourinho’s debut season in charge but eventually, he won the gaffer over and simply gave him no other option but to start the former Athletic Club player.

Mourinho clearly trusts him enough to put a new deal on the table, and I’m sure he’ll sign it soon and continue to put the pressure on the guys in front of him in the pecking order.
