Manchester United Football Club could be bracing themselves for a huge €70m (£62m) bid from Real Madrid, as they look to try and sign David de Gea. That’s what Cadena Ser says, translated by the Daily Mirror.
The Spanish giants have tried to sign De Gea twice previously, but both attempts came up short due to one reason or another. Now, when summer 2018 rolls around, Florentino Perez is ready to try again, and he’ll be hoping it’s third time lucky.
It comes as no secret, the 27-year-old is up there with the best in the business in between the sticks, and it has been an absolute pleasure watching him grow as a player.
This is a guy who can win Manchester United points almost single-handedly at times, due to some unbelievably athletic saves that nobody else on this planet would be able to make.
In my opinion, though, it’s an inevitability that one day, De Gea will move back home. The prospect of playing for the best club side in the world will eventually prove to be too good to turn down, that’s just football. I guess it’ll happen very similarly to how Cristiano Ronaldo eventually got his move, and we’ll just have to thank him for staying loyal and remaining the most consummate professional.
