Manchester United’s Juan Mata has been approached by Chinese Super League clubs about the possibility of moving to the Far East, to earn mega-money. However, The Mirror says that the Spaniard has rejected those approaches.
Mata, 29, is out of contract at the end of the summer, but the club are ready to let him sign a one-year extension, keeping him at the Theatre of Dreams until at least June 2019.
Somewhat to my surprise, Jose Mourinho seems to have put huge trust in Mata. I always felt like the former Chelsea star would be one of the first out of the exit door under the self-proclaimed Special One, but that hasn’t been the case at all.
Mata has played a hugely important role in our early season success due to that excellent footballing brain that he possesses. He always makes intelligent runs, picks the right pass and is an excellent leader in a young dressing room.
He loves it at United, you can tell that just by watching him. There was absolutely no way he’d quit out on playing Premier League football in favour of money, just take a look at the charity work he’s doing at the moment…
