Man United still talking to Swansea City over Daniel James transfer fee: report

In what has become a transfer story with daily updates, here’s the latest on Daniel James’ proposed move to Manchester United…

According to BBC journalist Simon Stone, United and Swansea City are still talking over a move in regards to the 21-year-old James, with no agreement in terms of a transfer fee in place as of yet.

This latest update comes just hours after a report we covered, in which it was suggested that James has his heart set on a move to Old Trafford during this transfer window.

For what it’s worth, I think a deal will eventually happen, it’s just a case of when rather than if – with United and Swansea both trying to negotiate the best possible deal for all involved.

My stance on James since the get-go has been this: I’ve only seen him play a few times, the young man is quick, hungry to learn and a hard-worker. That seems to be a theme in terms of the players linked with a move to United this summer – as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer prepares to add youth and effort aplenty to the squad.

James would be a good start in what has to be a window where United bring in several players. Not only are we desperate for a right-winger, we also badly need a new centre-back, right-back and perhaps two midfielders to replace both Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini.

Ed Woodward is certainly in for a busy summer, and the sooner this James deal is pushed over the line, the quicker United’s vice-chairman can turn his focus elsewhere.
