Man United striker sent home from international duty with foot problem

Manchester United haven’t played in almost a week, with another seven days to go before we see the Red Devils in action once again.

However, during the dreaded international break, injuries have been piling up and apparently, they just don’t want to stop.

After Marcus Rashford, Luke Shaw, Nemanja Matic and Anthony Martial were all sent home by their respective countries, another player has now bitten the injury-bullet.

This time, it’s Romelu Lukaku’s turn. The Belgium international missed the first game of their EURO qualifiers, and now, ESPN write that he has been sent home; presumably as he won’t be ready to take part in Belgium’s other match during this break.

Just as it looks like Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is getting players back, another handful goes down with various problems. We’re still unsure on the severity of Lukaku’s injury, but it did keep him out of United’s game against Wolverhampton Wanderers just before the international period.

With United looking to get themselves back on track at home to Watford this coming Saturday, these injuries couldn’t have come at a worse time. I look at the squad right now, and it’s looking mightily thin on numbers – particularly in an attacking sense. Who knows, Mason Greenwood, Tahith Chong or Angel Gomes could be about to get a huge opportunity…
