Manchester United Football Club can’t catch an injury break at the moment, with Jose Mourinho’s men suffering their second problem before the international football has even kicked off.
That’s according to the BBC, who say that Nemanja Matic has pulled out of the Serbia squad with an ‘unspecified problem’. The 30-year-old will miss the games against Montenegro and Romania.
He has now returned to Manchester in order to continue his rehabilitation. But let’s hope it’s nothing too serious and he’ll be ready to go in the not too distant future.
It comes just days after Luke Shaw was also ruled out with injury issues, as the problems are mounting up for Mourinho before a trip to his old stomping ground; Stamford Bridge.
Matic has become a real leader in that midfield. His ability to break up the play and get United back on the attack became vital last season. However, to start this term, he has been less than impressive. I hope that perhaps having this fortnight break will do him the world of good. I honestly wouldn’t be surprised if this was a tactical pullout from Mourinho – so he’s fresh and ready to play at Chelsea away.
