Manchester United Football Club are now sweating on the fitness of Anthony Martial, with the Frenchman now a doubt to play against Crystal Palace on Saturday, according to The Metro.
The 21-year-old was absolutely sublime against CSKA Moscow on Wednesday night, picking up three assists and scoring once himself. Throughout the game, he ran the Russian side absolutely ragged.
Then, just after the hour mark, the brilliant attacker seemed to get involved in a 50/50 tackle, of which he came out worst. Jose Mourinho took the decision to substitute him a couple of minutes later and he certainly wasn’t moving too good when he came off.
Of course, we’ve had no official assessment on the injury from the club, but the fact that we play Palace in just over two days means that he’ll have to get over this knock quickly if he wants to be involved.
The FA clearly haven’t helped the Red Devils out here. It’s particularly frustrating when you see that Manchester City and Chelsea play later, with Liverpool and Spurs getting an extra days rest.
Even if he can make the bench, that’d be a positive because after this weekend, we have another international break meaning he’ll get two weeks to try and recover fully.
