Manchester United Football Club head to Turin tomorrow, to take on a Juventus side who have been practically flawless to start the 2018/19 campaign.
Jose Mourinho’s men have a real task on their hands, as the Red Devils were dismantled last time they played the Serie A giants.
Their task hasn’t been made easier with news that Romelu Lukaku will miss the clash through injury. Before the game, Jose Mourinho also confirmed that the 25-year-old is now a doubt to play in the Manchester derby this weekend.
“Injured for tomorrow and we don’t know for Sunday.” Mourinho is quoted as saying per Team Talk.
Now I know that Lukaku hasn’t been in the best form recently, but you simply cannot deny his talent, ability and goalscoring prowess when he’s in the mood.
He was, by far and away, our best goalscorer last term. You don’t just lose that. He’s just struggling for confidence at the moment.
The only way he’ll rediscover that touch is by playing himself through this poor spell and working his way back to the dizzy heights that we know he is capable of producing.
Hopefully, the injury isn’t too serious and he isn’t sidelined for all that long, but with the international break coming up following the game against City, at least he’ll have a fortnight to rest and recuperate.
