Man United table take it or leave it £80m offer for Harry Maguire: report

In one week today, we’ll be slap-bang in the middle of the drama that transfer deadline day begins.

After an excellent start to the summer, things have slowed down pretty quickly for Manchester United, though the Red Devils will need further recruitments if they’re to challenge for major honours this upcoming season.

The name that United have been chasing all summer is Harry Maguire. Earlier today, we covered a story from Sky Sports in which it was claimed that a world-record £80million bid had been made by the Old Trafford outfit.

Well now those claims have been backed up by talkSPORT, who actually add that United have tabled an £80million offer for the 26-year-old, though it’s a ‘take it or leave it’ bid.

Apparently, Leicester has until Monday to decide whether to accept the money or not, and the Reds have probably set the deadline in order to leave themselves with enough time to move onto other targets.

Should the bid be accepted, Maguire would be the most expensive defender in history. However, Leicester are under no pressure whatsoever to sell.

Right now, I can personally see this one going either way, but with Eric Bailly’s long-term injury, the 20-time Premier League champions definitely need to sign a new centre-back this summer – be it Maguire or someone else.
