Manchester United have reportedly held talks with Celtic about the possibility of signing Moussa Dembele, according to French media outlet L’Equipe.
The Express translated the news so that English viewers can read it, fresh of the back of a 1-0 loss United suffered against FC Basel in the Champions League, as our strikers drew a blank.
At 21, Dembele has been turning heads over the last couple of seasons with some truly outstanding performances for The Hoops, and it comes as no surprise to see him linked with one of the biggest sides in the world.
This is a young man with bags of ability and potential, and one day, he’ll be an absolute world-beater. I’d love to see him at the Theatre of Dreams, but right now, I have one concern.
If Mourinho signed him, we’d have Romelu Lukaku, Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and, of course, Dembele. That’s an awful lot of competition for the starting forward role, even more so when your team only plays with one front man.
On top of that, any move to sign Dembele wouldn’t be cheap. He’s Celtic’s main man, and they’d want an arm and a leg if he is to leave Scotland anytime soon.
