Manchester United failed with a bid for Erling Braut Haaland, with the Norweigan eventually choosing Borussia Dortmund.
That leaves Ole Gunnar Solskjaer with a decision to make. Does the Baby Faced Assassin stick with what he has, or invest into the playing squad? Well, perhaps we have our answer.
According to Goal Mexico, the 28-year-old Premier League striker, Raul Jimenez, has emerged as a potential January transfer option for United. Another name mentioned is Timo Werner.
The translation comes from The Metro, who states that Solskjaer is determined to add a new striker in the mid-season window. Although they’ll face competition from Manchester City in regards to Jimenez, while Werner is also being eyed by Chelsea.
United need a goal-scorer. The decision to move away from Romelu Lukaku and Alexis Sanchez without replacement was always going to be a risky one. The Old Trafford club could certainly do worse than Jimenez, he’s a player who has caused us problems every single time United have taken on Wolves over the last twelve months.
He’s a great age, experienced and ready to kick it up a notch. If he moved to Manchester there’s no doubt he’d get ample minutes to prove to the world that he has what it takes to cut it with the best, and United would be getting a quality, hard-working striker who knows where the back of the net is.
I’d imagine that Wolves won’t be keen on letting their prized asset leave in the mid-season window, mind, so a hefty bid would be required…
