According to Italian media outlet Il Messaggero, United are taking the talks with Roma to discuss a move for the superstar 20-year-old Nicolo Zaniolo, who is seriously impressing in the Serie A this term.
Zaniolo is an attacking midfielder, which has become a real position of need for the Old Trafford club. In sixteen games, the Italy international has scored five goals and tacked on one assist.
This doesn’t seem like a knee-jerk reaction, either, with United having scouts watching Zaniolo in action last week. They also had eyes on Sandro Tonali, too.
Zaniolo has had a whirlwind twelve months in professional football. Breaking through into the Roma team, then scoring twice for his country over the same period has been a real rise to prominence.
There’s now wonder why United (and probably other top clubs) are keen on making a move for the attacker. However, Roma won’t want to part with their prized asset and he certainly won’t come cheaply if the Serie A outfit do decide to cash in…
