Manchester United Football Club are set to hold clear-the-air talks with 22-year-old superstar, Anthony Martial.
That’s according to The Metro in an exclusive, who’ve broken the story just days after the Frenchman’s return to first-team training.
It has been confirmed that the Red Devils aren’t intending on parting with one of their prized assets during this transfer window, so these talks, particularly at this time, make perfect sense.
Look, for now, the ball is still in United’s court. Martial is under contract. They are under no pressure to sell. Things will change next summer, but with time on their side, I’d be surprised to see the former AS Monaco man leave before now and the season’s start.
We’ve not really heard anything concrete regarding a potential move away, either. The only way Martial will exit this summer is if the club want him to – or if they decide to use him in some sort of swap deal.
For now, the onus is firmly on the player. He’s an immense talent, a brilliant footballer. Now, he has to show that on the pitch and go about winning his place back; although displacing Alexis Sanchez isn’t going to be an easy task. We’re in for an interesting 2018/19 season…
