Man United to reject any Dean Henderson bids: report

Manchester United Football Club, for all their faults, have been excellent when it comes to choosing their goalkeepers over the last decade.

We all know David de Gea’s capabilities, while Sergio Romero has been an ever-reliable back-up. Then you have Dean Henderson, who is arguably the best up-and-comer in the business.

Currently on loan at Sheffield United, while De Gea is fresh off a new contract, United have a decision to make about their budding star.

Well, according to ESPN, United will ‘resist bids’ for the mega-talented 23-year-old, who has been in spectacular form this term.

Although United don’t want to lose Henderson permanently, they’re open to a loan move, with interest aplenty in the Englishman from Sheffield United and other top-flight clubs.

The article also states that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is ‘set to keep faith’ in De Gea next term, which will be a huge confidence-booster for the superstar Spaniard.

Solskjaer has to play this correctly, though. Losing Henderson would be disastrous and it feels inevitable that he’ll have to make the switch sooner or later…

Personally, I’d like to see Henderson on pre-season tour with United. That’s when a firm choice has to be made. If United think he’s ready, then why not go with the younger option and part with De Gea while his value remains somewhat high?
