Earlier on in the month, reports suggested that Manchester United were confident about signing Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal.
However, the man himself has finally spoken out about his future situation and it looks like bad news for Jose Mourinho and the Old Trafford faithful.
At this point in time, the Chile star won’t be joining his fellow countryman Alexis Sanchez at the Theatre of Dreams, that’s what it looks like at least.
“I’m not thinking about a transfer. I feel very comfortable here.” Vidal told Le10Sport, translated by the Manchester Evening News.
“Of course I would like to extend my contract. That’s an option. My kids are very happy here, too.”
The veteran midfielder is clearly loving life in Bavaria, and heck, who wouldn’t? Bayern Munich is one of the best sides in the world, who’ll compete for major honours year-in-year-out.
No doubt the lure of being reunited with Paul Pogba must be rather tempting for Vidal, but I guess winning trophies and playing for Munich is where Vidal’s heart is at right now.
Honestly, I’d much prefer United to make a move for a younger, more energetic central player. We need a guy who can use his legs and help track back in order to free up the aforementioned Pogba. Is Vidal that guy anymore at aged 30? Probably not.
