Inter Milan are set to offer Ivan Perisic a new contract with an ‘anti-United clause’ inserted, according to Gazzetta dello Sport, translated by the Daily Mirror.
Perisic, 28, was linked with a potential move to Old Trafford for a large part of the summer and of course, any deal fell through for one reason or another.
Now, it looks as though he’ll be staying with Milan for at least one more season, and it certainly makes sense for them to offer him a new contract. However, I’m not sure about this ‘anti-United clause’.
First of all, the player doesn’t have to sign it, although resisting it may be tough probably due to the fact that more money will be on the table for him. If he does put pen to paper, the chances are that he’s completely ruling himself out of a move to the Theatre of Dreams for the rest of his career.
It came as no real secret that Jose Mourinho wanted to bring in a new attacker over this transfer window, but eventually, that didn’t happen and the self-proclaimed Special One was kind of forced to work with what he already had.
