Man United turn attentions to £37million-rated veteran centre-half: report

Manchester United could well be in the hunt for a new centre-half this summer. Now, a brand new name has been thrown into the mix.

It comes from Yahoo! Sport, per Plymouth Live. The man they say the Red Devils could be targeting is AC Milan’s Leonardo Bonucci; who switched Turin for the Italian capital just twelve months ago.

However, Milan are struggling to keep in line with FIFA’S Financial Fair Play scheme, and may well be forced into parting with some of their big-earners.

Bonucci, rated at £37million, would be a simply sublime addition. He’s the perfect Jose Mourinho signing as the Italian would bring age and experience to the table; and he’d vastly improve the overall outlook of the squad if he were to move to Old Trafford.

I think that any squad needs the perfect balance of youngsters and veterans. Our squad is looking rather young at this point in time, and Bonucci would certainly help cut out those silly, naive errors that the likes of Victor Lindelof and Phil Jones have made this term.

The only downside is the fact that we’ll only make use of his services for a few years before Boucci starts to be on the decline. Is it worth the risk as a short-term fix? I believe so.
