Marcus Rashford is one of several young Manchester United superstars flourishing under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at the moment. Now, it looks as though the attacker is set to reap the rewards, financially…
According to the Daily Mirror, the Red Devils are set to hand Rashford a new bumper deal, to ward off interest from European giants when the summer rolls around.
Apparently, United have already opened talks with Rashford about potentially doubling his £75k-a-week contract to £150k-a-week, with both Real Madrid and Juventus eyeing a move for the young Mancunian.
Rashford’s current deal expires in eighteen months, but it’s clear United are trying to ensure that the striker commits his long-term future to Old Trafford sooner rather than later.
It’s an area in which United have to improve in, because when you allow players to run their contracts down, the power in their hands grows. Just look at David de Gea and Anthony Martial, right now, they hold all the aces with their deals coming to an end…
United are lucky in the sense that Rashford is red through and through. I’d be surprised if he didn’t want to stay here, particularly as he’s now playing through the middle as the out-and-out striker.
Let’s hope we see that photo of him penning the contract alongside Edward Woodward and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer in the not too distant future…
