Manchester United midfielder Marouane Fellaini could be ready to quit out on the Old Trafford club in January, following the arrival of Nemanja Matic from Chelsea. That’s what the Daily Mail writes, as per The Sun.
The 29-year-old Belgian international believes he has slipped down the pecking order, as Matic is a shoe-in to start in midfield ahead of him. Fellaini’s contract expires next summer, and he could be willing to sign a pre-contract with a foreign club in January; presumably, if things aren’t going his way.
Fellaini is one of those players who’ll be fighting for a place in a World Cup starting XI next season, and I bet the arrival of Matic has put a real dampener on things for the Belgian beast.
With that said, the former Everton midfielder has definitely played his fair share of minutes for the Old Trafford club since his arrival. To be honest, Jose Mourinho seems to absolutely love him and towards the end of the 2016/17 campaign, he became key to our success – particularly in the Europa League.
From day one it has been evident that Fellaini isn’t a ‘typical Manchester United player’ but in my opinion, he’s good at doing a job. Personally, I hope he sticks around as a squad player, but we’ll just have to see what happens.
