Manchester United Football Club have once again confirmed that they are the biggest club in the country in regards to shirt sales. The Manchester Evening News quote Sports Direct’s figures, with the Red Devils having a huge nine players included in the top thirty.
Sitting at the top of the tree is our club record signing, Paul Pogba. The French midfield maestro has made a strong start to the season and it comes as no surprise that his name has sold the most since the start of May.
Number two on the list was new boy Romelu Lukaku, who signed from Everton during the summer period. Jose Mourinho identified the fact that he needed a new striker, with Lukaku repaying that faith so far; scoring four goals in four outings.
Fifth on the list was teenage sensation Marcus Rashford, who has shone for both club and country over the last week or so. The young man deserves all the praise he is getting right now.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic remains tenth on Sports Direct’s rankings, with Ander Herrera (14th) and Henrikh Mkhitaryan (16th) both inside the top twenty.
The other three players who were on Manchester United’s books over the period are Wayne Rooney (24th), Juan Mata (25th) and David de Gea (28th).
