Man United’s move for Wan-Bissaka all-but done, he’ll earn £80k-a-week: report

After signing Daniel James from Swansea City, it feels as though the pace has been picked up by Manchester United in the transfer market.

The usually reliable Andy Mitten has some excellent news for us reds, particularly if you’re an Aaron Wan-Bissaka fan.

While writing an article for GQ Magazine, Mitten claims that United feel their move to sign the 21-year-old right-back is ‘all-but done’. Furthermore, the fee that’ll take Wan-Bissaka to United is £47million, potentially rising to £55million based on add-ons and bonuses – meaning he’d be up there amongst the most expensive defenders in the world.

Apparently, one more meeting has been scheduled to take place in London, although the player has already agreed personal terms worth a nice £80,000-a-week – a huge increase on what the right-back currently earns.

Mitten has been the go-to source for United news for years, and it’s great to hear that from the Red side of things, a deal is edging closer.

Wan-Bissaka would be a considerable upgrade on both Ashley Young and Matteo Darmian in that regard, while Mitten actually adds that the latter could be sold to offset some of the costs to sign the Crystal Palace man during this window.

Hopefully, the two clubs can thrash out a deal pretty quickly – allowing United to welcome Wan-Bissaka before pre-season tour begins, while being able to press on with other signings.
