Man Utd are secretly trying to sell star man this summer

Manchester United made the swoop for Robin van Persie in a £24million deal three years ago now, and the Flying Dutchman won the club a Premier League title almost single-handedly, as he fulfilled his dreams and ambitions by winning his first league title.

Today, reports are emerging that United are trying to secretly sell Robin van Persie abroad, as he no longer fits into Louis van Gaal’s mould due to his age and injury record.

United aren’t prepared to offer the 31-year old a new contract, and are trying to sell him now for a transfer fee rather than losing him on a free next summer.

The news comes from one of Van Persie’s former teammates, Pierre van Hooijdonk, who said:

“As early as January of this year, I received information from Turkey about Robin and Fenerbahce,” said Van Hooijdonk. “The minute this information came, you knew that United had sent people to test the water for a move.”

“Agents and others were searching for big clubs who are prepared to pay the high fee involved for van Persie. Robin’s contract expires next year, so this is the moment when United can still get money for him.”

If its true that United are trying to force Robin van Persie out behind his back then thats not any way to treat one of the clubs players. Its pretty out of order, but at the end of the day Pierre van Hooijdonk will have no idea whats going on inside the Old Trafford dressing room.

  1. van Persie still hates van hooidonk because Hooijdonk treated him very bad when Persie was a young player at feijenoord. It still plays up sometimes.
