Man Utd boosted in pursuit of Ilkay Gundogan

Manchester United are thought to be closing in on a deal to sign Ilkay Gundogan from Borussia Dortmund in the summer, and Louis van Gaal and his side have been further boosted in their pursuit of the German international.

Michael Zorc, the Dortmund director said: “He told us that he wants to leave this summer.”

With him having just one season left on his contract come the summer, Dortmund’s hands are certainly tied. It means they either risk letting him leave on a free transfer in a year, or sell him for a reduced fee this sumer.

With these latest comments its quite obvious that he will be leaving Dortmund this year, but his destination is still unknown despite United currently leading the race.

Other sides including Bayern Munich, Arsenal and Liverpool are thought to be seriously interested in the 24-year old, but hopefully we can fight them off and have him wearing our famous red shirt come next season.

Would Gundogan be a good signing? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
