Manchester United Football Club are clearly preparing themselves for a huge summer of spending for the second season in succession under Van Gaal, as the Iron Tulip looks to mould the current squad in his image and turn us into title winners again.
It looks like the stability is slowly returning to the twenty-times Champions of England, but there is still work to be done.
Louis van Gaal is clearly looking to sign at least one midfielder this summer, and according to The Telegraph, the manager is still keeping an eye on Ilkay Gundogan and Paul Pogba, as he weighs up the best buys for the summer.
A move for Gundogan looks more likely at the moment, with Sky Sports News going as far as saying that a fee between United and Dortmund was close to being agreed. When you couple that with the fact that the 24-year old has admitted he’ll be leaving the Westfalonstadion at the end of the current campaign, this move could happen.
Pogba on the other hand is a tough one, and nobody splits the fans like him. Many don’t want him anywhere near the Old Trafford turf again whereas others like myself would welcome him back. However he’d cost an awful lot and there are bound to be others in for his signature.
Would either of these players be worthwhile signings? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
