Man Utd could re-sign a former hero in the summer – report

Manchester United are certain to sign a centre-back of some description in the summer, with Louis van Gaal seemingly unimpressed with a whole host of the current drop of defenders at Old Trafford. A cheap option for the Iron Tulip would be Nemanja Vidic, with the Daily Star thinking a move could happen.

The big Serb has been struggling for any kind of form in the Serie A, hence the rumours about him leaving Italy cropping up.

His agent, Silvano Martina has responded to those rumours:

“He’s fine,” Martina told

“Inter are a great club, and any player would be happy to wear the Nerazzurri shirt.

“Will he be at Inter next season? I’m not a magician, I can’t see the future.”

Re-signing Vidic would be a huge mistake if you ask me. Yes, he’s one of the best centre-backs this great club has had the pleasure of watching over recent years, but theres a reason we sold him.

Coming to the end of his stay he lacked pace, power, and was making mistakes that weren’t in his game previously. We’re better off going for someone younger who can become the mainstay of a back four for the foreseeable future.

Would re-signing Vidic be a good move? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
