Manchester United lost one of the hottest talents in world football on a free transfer a few years ago, with Paul Pogba quitting the club in favour of more money and regular playing time elsewhere. The French international is lighting up the Serie A at the moment, and a move away is being reported by the press.
However the teams in the hunt for the 22-year old have been dealt a huge blow, as Juventus’ chief Giuseppe Marotta has said that they have no intention of selling their star man to Manchester United or any other club.
“Pogba is a young player with lots of promise but he is realising his potential,” said Marotta.
“We want to win and we don’t necessarily have to sell our best players. It is clear that players of this quality attract interest from other clubs but we don’t seek buyers and there has been no contact.”
This deal would be a bit of a precarious one. It’d certainly cause a divide between the Old Trafford faithful, with a lot of the unforgiving fans unable to forget the acrimonious circumstances in which he left Old Trafford in.
In the modern day game, I feel that you have to take it on the chin and if he can come back and make Manchester United a better team, then he can do his talking on the pitch and make it up to the fans that way.
He’d cost somewhere in the region of £60million and a huge weekly wage, but you’re buying into the massive potential he has, and he could well stay at the club for years.
