Man Utd expecting big decision to be made today

Manchester United overcame Newcastle with a slender 1-0 victory courtesy of a late Ashley Young goal on Wednesday night, but the game was marred by an disgusting incident midway through the first half, as Papiss Cisse and Jonny Evans became embroiled in a tangle.

The incident led to the pair spitting at each other, which on Jonny Evans’ part is something out of character.

The FA charged them both with spitting, which is an automatic six game ban, but the Northern Irishman contested the FA charge, meaning the decision has been delayed until tomorrow.

Evans is firm in his suggestion that he wasn’t actually spitting at Cisse, but instead he was spitting straight onto the ground. For me though, it looked as though our centre-back aimed it at Newcastle’s star striker, and I’d be very surprised if his ban was overturned.

What is a fair ban for Evans? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
