Louis Van Gaal is set to sanction a £60million move for Bayern Munich forward Thomas Muller as a replacement for the outgoing Robin Van Persie.
The Daily Star suggest Van Gaal feels Muller, 25, is the man to replace the goals of Van Persie this season and will look to tempt the German champions with a huge offer.
United are in desperate need of a new striker with only Wayne Rooney and teenager James Wilson as the clubs recognised strikers. Falcao has ended his loan deal, Van Persie is set to complete his transfer to Fenerbache this weekend and Javier Hernandez is recovering from a broken collar bone and does not feature in Van Gaal’s plans.
Van Gaal wants to replace RVP with a proven goal scorer and World Cup winner Muller is said to be the man for the job. Thomas Muller is said to of have fallen out with manager Pep Guardiola in recent weeks and could be tempted into reuniting with old boss Van Gaal at Old Trafford.
