Manchester United have once again been handed a favourable draw in the FA Cup, but first Louis van Gaal’s men will have to get past a stubborn Cambridge United side next Tuesday. If they can do so, a trip to either Preston or Sheffield United awaits.
United haven’t won the competition since way back in 2004, and I for one would love to see us go all the way this year. The tradition of the FA Cup is brilliant, and the fact that you never know what can happen makes it an intriguing tournament during every round.
I’d go as far as saying Louis van Gaal will not get a better chance to win the best domestic cup competition in world football. The team have to take this chance with both hands, and if we’re basing this solely on the draw, a spot in the quarter finals is an absolute minimum.
Full draw: Crystal Palace v Liverpool or Bolton Wanderers, Arsenal v Middlesbrough, Aston Villa v Leicester City, West Brom v West Ham, Bradford City v Sunderland or Fulham, Blackburn Rovers v Rochdale or Stoke, Derby County v Reading, Preston or Sheffield United v Cambridge United or Manchester United.
