Man Utd ‘in talks’ to sign Argentine

Manchester United have a huge summer ahead, as Louis van Gaal looks to bolster his squad as he looks to guide his side into the Champions League after a year-long absence that felt like an absolute lifetime.

According to the Spanish media outlet AS, United and Valencia are in talks over the signature of the 28-year old, and hopefully a deal will go through before the club take to their pre-season tour.

There is no doubting that the fee would be quite expensive though, with somewhere around the £25million mark thought to be enough to prise him away from his current side.

Otamendi would be a fantastic signing. He’d bring that much-needed experience, presence and stability that has been lacking since Nemanja Vidic and Rio Ferdinand were at the heart of the defence.

Would Otamendi be a good signing? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
