Man Utd increasingly worried that they’ll lose David de Gea

There has still been no new contract penned by David de Gea, and the club and fans alike are growing increasingly wary about the prospect of losing the best shot-stopper in the country. According to the Mirror, the Old Trafford hierarchy’s fears are growing, as he nears the final year of his contract.

Talks between the players representatives and the club have been ongoing for at least six months now, and it seems that no new deal is getting any closer.

Whether or not he is waiting to find out our Champions League fate, or whether he already has his heart set on a move to Real this summer remains to be seen.

However come June, if no new deal is signed then that probably means De Gea is off. United won’t risk letting his contract run down into its final year because the fear of losing him on a free would be huge.

I’d be concerned if Valdes has been brought in as a straight replacement for De Gea, because its been a while since he’s played regular football at the highest level. Hopefully Van Gaal has another keeper in mind as a contingency plan.

Is Valdes a good enough replacement for De Gea? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
