Manchester United are currently in a fight for a spot in the top four come the end of the season, with Liverpool also hunting down a spot in Europe’s Premier Competition come may. The pair of North West clubs are also battling off the field – for the signature of Eduardo Salvio.
The 24-year old Argentine winger has a deal at Benfica until 2017, but he is currently weighing up his options and thinking about leaving Portugal, according to The Mirror.
He has been in sensational form for the league leaders this year, leading to a whole host of top clubs sending scouts and looking at the possibility of luring him away from his current club.
Salvio himself has no problem with signing a new contract, but he wants his current release clause (thought to be around £43million) lowered to a realistic amount so that if a larger club does come in for him he has the option to leave.
