Manchester United have already sealed a move to bring in Eric Bailly from Villareal, but now the club could be about to make a sensational move for a former star. The man is question is Portuguese winger Nani, and that’s according to reports coming out of Turkey.
The 29-year old cost United around £20million back in 2007, but twelve months ago, the club made the decision to sell him to Fenerbache.
Jose Mourinho is reportedly interested in bringing Nani back to the Theatre of Dreams, but the club aren’t willing to meet the £6.2million release clause in his contract with the Turkish club.
Honestly, this move would be a bit odd. Manchester United only let him go last summer, and that was after a couple of very poor seasons. A move back for him now just wouldn’t make sense, and it’d feel like he is just destined for failure. It’s probably time to move on, and look at other targets.
