Manchester United’s summer transfer activity has certainly slowed up a lot since the signing of Memphis Depay, but its clearly not for the want of trying as Louis van Gaal is pushing hard to bring new faces in through the Old Trafford doors.
One player constantly linked with the club recently is Harry Kane, and according to The Sun, Manchester United have made direct contact with Tottenham about the possibility of signing the star striker who turns 22 later this month.
Manchester United believe that he is a long-term replacement for club captain Wayne Rooney, with the Chingford man valued at around £40million by Louis van Gaal.
Whether or not that bid will be enough remains to be seen, and whether Kane is the real deal is up in the air, too. Personally I’d like to see him stay with Spurs for another season at least and see if he continues to find the back of the net.
