Manchester United’s Louis van Gaal is keen on his players being in pristine condition in terms of fitness, and that was demonstrated when he publicly slated Luke Shaw for being unfit and overweight at around this time last year.

However the young left-back is clearly keen on proving that he is capable of shedding a few pounds, by losing approximately half a stone on a tailor-made fitness regime drawn up for him by the club.

Hopefully this new trim Luke Shaw will be able to stay fit for the full season and make a huge impact on the Premier League, having only played sixteen league games in his debut season.

We all know how talented Shaw is, and he clearly is one of the best prospects the country has to offer at this moment in time. He now needs to kick on at United and establish himself as a first-team regular.

Will Luke Shaw make a good impression this season? Leave your thoughts in the comment box below.
