Manchester United have been long-standing admirers of Bayern Munich’s Thomas Muller, but it seems quite impossible to lure him away from his hometown. One things for certain, it will take an awful lot of money to make that transfer happen.
According to Sportbild, Manchester United have offered €160million to lure the 25-year old to the club. The €160million includes a transfer fee, and the German international’s wages for five years.
As you’d imagine, Bayern Munich clearly do not want to sell one of their big names and homegrown superstars, so Manchester United’s Edward Woodward wants to meet Bayern’s CEO personally to discuss the transfer in more depth.
Thomas Muller would be an outstanding signing, and he fits into Louis van Gaal’s philosophy perfectly. Prising him away from Bavaria will prove to be tough however, and he certainly would cost a lot.
