Man United player ratings vs Brighton during 3-0 Carabao Cup win

It’s time for our Man Utd ratings vs Brighton, with the Red Devils winning 1-0 and booking their place in the Carabao Cup fifth round!

Dean Henderson – Made some quality saves to preserve his clean sheet. Looks like he’s a real player. 7/10

Diogo Dalot – Pretty steady. Didn’t get forward as much as I’d like, though. I’ll put it down to rustiness. 5/10

Eric Bailly – Defended brilliantly throughout and was willing to put his body on the line. A strong performance that gives Solskjaer something to think about. 8/10

Victor Lindelof – Pretty good. Hardly put a foot wrong and looked like the ideal partner for Bailly. 7/10

Brandon Williams – Not bad. I’d still like to see him over on the right-hand side of defence. 6/10

Scott McTominay – Gave United the lead on the stroke of half-time with a superb header. Played well. 6/10

Fred – Gave the ball away sloppily in the first 45. 5/10

Donny van de Beek – Busy as per usual. Grabbed an assist with a very clever ball for Mata. 6/10

Juan Mata – Scored a lovely goal to make it 2-0. A real captain’s performance from the loveable Spaniard. His ball into Scotty Mac for the header was perfect, too 8/10

Daniel James – Not really threatening enough. Couldn’t get in behind and utilise his speed. 4/10

Odion Ighalo – Pretty quiet. Held the ball up well at times but I’d like to see him more involved. 5/10

Subs:

Paul Pogba – Scored a free-kick, albeit from a deflection.

Marcus Rashford – Looked sharp.
