Man Utd readying bid for promising Brazilian defender

Manchester United are preparing a move for the young Paris Saint-Germain centre-back, Marquinhos, according to the Manchester Evening News. United were believed to have made a couple of bids for the Brazilian on deadline day, only for PSG to reject both offers immediately.

Louis van Gaal is a keen admirer of the 20-year old, and is set to follow up his pursuit of the centre-back in the summer.

The fire has already been fuelled ahead of a potential move, as the player himself has admitted that there were some discussions with English clubs in January, and he added that the Premier League is the best in the world.

“The Premier League is viewed all around the world,” Marquinhos said.

“There is even some children in Brazil who grow up supporting English teams.

“There have been some discussions with English clubs, but right now I’m with PSG.”

It looks like the youngster is certainly keen on moving to England at some point in his career. One things for sure, he’d get plenty of game time at Manchester United – who desperately need reinforcements in the centre-back position.
