Manchester United have been handed a huge boost, as star striker and captain Wayne Rooney has been declared fit and ready to play in United’s top four clash against Southampton on Monday night. The 29-year old missed the game against Stoke City last night, but is expected to return to the starting line-up next Monday.
After having a routine scan this afternoon, the club found that Rooney is more than ready to return to the squad and more than likely the starting line-up.
Rooney was left out of the game against Stoke as a precautionary measure, claim the Daily Mail, and with bigger fish to fry over the next fortnight, that decision looks to be an excellent one made by Louis van Gaal.
The Croxteth-born striker has been in excellent goalscoring form for club and country of late, so lets hope he can continue that as we head into the festive period and keep moving up that table and consolidate a spot in the top four.
