Manchester United made the move to make Louis van Gaal their new manager last summer – an appointment that the majority of the Old Trafford faithful were happy with, particularly after a hugely successful summer for the Iron Tulip at the World Cup in Brazil.
Many thought he would have the balls to turn Manchester United back into a winning side again – and those people are certainly right.
One thing that is stick lacking however, is the slick, attacking football that we as Reds so desperately crave.
Things could’ve been very different for Manchester United however, as Antonio Conte has revealed that United offered him the job before Van Gaal took it.

By process of elimination, Manchester United were the only club to hire a manager who switched a national management job for a domestic football job in England.
