Manchester United were dealt what was thought to be a huge blow, as the highly-rated German winger Marco Reus signed a new deal at his beloved Borrusia Dortmund. Many clubs were thought to be chasing his signature in a cut-price deal this summer, but that isn’t the case anymore.
Louis van Gaal could still make a move for the 25-year old though, but according to the Daily Star, he’ll have to stump up £50million to sign him, rather than the £27million release clause that was in his previous contract.
My concern with Reus is his horrific injury record. He has struggled to keep fit for a prolonged period of time over the past couple of seasons, and do Manchester United really need another injury prone player on their books at this current time? Probably not.
