Manchester United fought hard to earn the three points away at Crystal Palace at the weekend, with the goals coming from Juan Mata and Marouane Fellaini, either side of an Jason Puncheon free-kick in the second half.
One absentee from that game was Robin van Persie, and according to the Daily Mail, he was left bemused at his exclusion from the match day squad.
The Dutch striker himself has told friends that he was ‘absolutely fine’ to play, but Louis van Gaal is thought to have not wanted to risk the 31-year old due to a lack of match rhythm in a key game.
I understand both sides of the argument, but with the players available it was highly unlikely that Robin would’ve started the game anyway. Honestly its probably best for him to start turning his attentions to next season and getting a good pre-season under his belt.
