Manchester United have officially started to lure the highly sought after German international Mats Hummels to Old Trafford. According to SportBild, a €30million offer has been made for the 26-year old, and United couldn’t have timed the bid any better.
With Klopp’s future in turmoil, Dortmund are currently in disarray and their players will be thinking twice about their futures.
Hummels has been up there with the best centre-halves in world football for the last few years, and the pinnacle of that would’ve been his World Cup victory with Germany just under twelve months ago.
Manchester United need a senior centre-back who can come in and command the back line. Despite being just 26, Hummels is experienced way beyond his years, having won two league titles and playing in a Champions League final too.
Edward Woodward and the board must do all they can if there is even a 10% chance that Hummels is available this summer, as he’d certainly make us title contenders next term.
