Manchester United look to be closing in on their first signing of the summer, in the form of the German international Ilkay Gundogan. However their spending doesn’t seemingly look like stopping there, with an audacious £75million move coming Real Madrid’s way.
According to the Daily Mail, the Welshman has a £75million release clause in his contract, and Manchester United are set to activate that in an attempt to secure his services ahead of a season where United are expected to be challenging for the title.
Obviously Bale would help our chances no-end, as he has proved his worth both in England and Spain, scoring goals for fun in the two biggest leagues in the world.
the £75million price tag is a huge one, but if he wants the move then perhaps using David de Gea as a makeweight in the deal could bring that fee down somewhat, as it’d be a deal that works out well and benefits all parties involved.
It would be sad to see De Gea go, but bringing in Gareth Bale would certainly make that blow an easier one to take.
